Modesty for Christ or Satan
God desires His people to
be light bearers to a world
lying in midnight darkness.
But if they refuse to go
forward in the light which
He causes to shine on their
pathway, the light will finally
become to them darkness;
and instead of being light
bearer to the world, they
themselves will be lost in
the blackness that surrounds
them. God desires His light
bearers ever to keep a high
standard before them. By
precept and example they
must hold this perfect
standard high above Satan's
false standard, which if
followed, will lead to misery,
degradation, disease, and
death for both body and
soul.
There is less excuse in our
day for stubbornness and
unbelief than there was for
the Jews in the days of
Christ. They did not have
before them the example
of a nation that had suffer-
ed retribution of their
unbelief and disobedience.
But we have before us the
history of the chosen
people of God, who
separated themselves
from Him and rejected
the Prince of life. Though
they could not convict
Him of sin, though they
could not fail to see their
own hypocrisy, they
hated the Prince of life
because He laid bare
their evil ways. In our
day greater light and
greater evidence is
given. We have also
their example, the
warnings and reproofs
that were presented
to them and our sin
and its retribution will
be the greater, if we
refuse to walk in the
light. Many say, "If I
had only lived in the
days of Christ, I would
not have wrested His
words, or falsly
interpreted His
instruction. I would
not have rejected
and crucified Him as
did the Jews;" but
that will be proved
by the way in which
you deal with His
message and His
messengers to-day.
The Lord is testing
the people of today
as much as He
tested the Jews in
their day. When He
sends His messages
of mercy, the light of
His truth, He is sending
the Spirit of truth to you,
and if you accept the
message, you accept
of Jesus. Those who
declare that if they
had lived in the days
of Christ, they would
not do as did the
rejecters of His mercy,
will to-day be tested.
Those who live in this
day are not accountable
for the deeds of those
who crucified the Son
of God; but if with all
the light that shone up-
on His ancient people,
delineated before us,
we travel over the
same ground, cherish
the same spirit, refuse
to receive reproof and
warning, then our guilt
will be greatly augment-
ed, and the condemna-
tion that fell upon them
will fall upon us, only it
will be as much greater
as our light is greater
in this age than was
their light in their age.
After presenting His
relation to his people
in various lights, He
finally declares that
in the great day He
will judge of every
action as if it had
been done unto
Himself.

Whose adorning let it
not be that outward
adorning of plaiting
the hair, and of wearing
of gold, or of putting on
of apparel; 1 Peter 3:3
God will have a people
separate and distinct
from the world. When
any cherish a desire
to imitate the fashions
of the world, he ceases
to acknowledge them
as his children, and they
become the children of
the world and of darkness.
Those that have professed
Christ, virtually put Him off,
and show that they are
strangers to grace and to
the meek and lowly Jesus.
Had they acquainted
themselves with Him, they
would walk worthy of Him.
I saw that God's order had
been reversed, and His
special directions
disregarded by those who
adopt the American
costume. I was referred
to Deuteronomy 22:5:
"The woman shall not
wear that which pertaineth
unto a man, neither shall a
man put on a woman's
garment: for all that do
so are abomination unto
the Lord thy God." God
would not have his people
adopt the so-called reform
dress. It is IMMODEST
apparel, wholly unfitted for
the modest humble
followers of Christ.

So, in these verses from the word of God, we see that God
was not pleased with the covering that Adam and Eve put on and God Himself took the case into His own hands and made them
coats from the animals skins. The Jews were wearing this type of clothing with wool and linen and other types of cloth
when they were in the wilderness and God told them to put a band of blue on the bottom of the garments to remind them of God's
purity and His perfect law.
When the American costume came to the women, the Lord
said it is IMMODEST and an abomination. The pants on a woman without a dress over top of them is what is IMMODEST accordong
to Deuteronomy 22:5. This is what was part of the new costume that has become more horrible than ever over the years.
The true Christian will recognize the words regarding modesty as of vital consequence. We can not look like a child
of Jesus in bathing suits and shorts, sleeveless, low-neck, tight-tops and short skirts. I don't believe we can walk
into heaven wearing the Devil's inventions of any kind. The lovely Lord Jesus does not work with the Devil.
